Overheard On Twitter: Penn State Football Fans React To 2024 Game Themes

Penn State football announced game themes for the 2024 season Monday afternoon. The White Out is scheduled for November 9th’s contest against Big Ten newcomer and National Championship runner-up Washington, while the Stripe Out will be on October 5 against UCLA and the Helmet Stripe on November 2 against Ohio State, to name a few.

Some fans didn’t appear to be too fond of the pick for the White Out game, but would rather play the Huskies than Illinois, which is scheduled as the homecoming game on September 28.

However, other fans took to Twitter to express their satisfaction with Penn State’s pick, citing Ohio State’s loss to Mizzou in the Cotton Bowl and Washington’s trip to the National Championship last season.

Others concurred, saying that as long as FOX’s Big Noon was in the way, Penn State would just have to be happy without playing Ohio State.

Some believed Penn State is scheduling the White Out against Washington rather than the Buckeyes because it has a better chance to win. The Nittany Lions were .500 in the White Out entering its contest with Auburn in 2021, and it has since won the game every year.
