Penn State was one of the first programs to come through with a scholarship offer for Malvern (Pa.) Prep Class of 2026 defensive tackle Cam Brickle back in his freshman year in 2022. Since then, it’s been a bit of a ride for the three-star prospect.

Brickle left Malvern Prep last summer to play at Santa Margarita Catholic in Southern California. Transfer issues and a shoulder injury allowed him to play in only three games in 2023, and he returned to Pennsylvania and Malvern Prep in January to continue his high school career.

The offers haven’t slowed down, either. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Miami, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas have come through with scholarships this year alone. Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State and Tennessee were already on that list.

Now back in the Keystone State and focused, Brickle has turned some of his attention this summer to recruiting. He will be back on campus at Penn State on Friday for the Nittany Lions’ annual Lasch Bash recruiting event. Brickle last visited for a spring practice in April and attended the team’s win over Rutgers in November.

Penn State has made a favorable early impression

The 6-foot-1.5, 305-pound Brickle is not close to a decision. He is expected to work out with Nittany Lions defensive line coach Deion Barnes this weekend, however.

“Penn State never disappoints. Penn State is definitely a top five [school] for me,” Brickle said at the time of his game visit. “I just want to keep enjoying my relationship with Penn State and continue to build relationships with all coaches.”

Brickle is a three-star prospect by the On3 Industry rankings. He is the No. 39 defensive lineman nationally and the No. 16 prospect in Pennsylvania in the Class of 2026.
