Alfred John Rennison
Alfred John Rennison, 80, of Veedersburg passed away at 8:37 a.m. Sunday, June 30, 2024, at his residence with his family at his side. John was born Sept. 23, 1943, at Rockland, Maine, the son of the late Alfred and Edna Alberta (Sprouls) Rennison. He married Beverly A. Abolt on Aug. 14, 1966, at the United Methodist Church in Stone Bluff, where they were members. She preceded him in death Dec. 1, 2013.

Pearl “Pat” Louise Hopkins, 93, of Rankin, passed away at 5:52 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton. She was born on March 29, 1931, in Crossville, Tennessee, the daughter of Deet and Vina (Hedgecoth) Adams. She married Raymond P. Hopkins Jr. on January 15, 1956, in Ringo, Georgia. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1983.

Mother, Daughter Branch Out to Open New Restaurant in Catlin
CATLIN — Michele Rice and her daughter, Nicole Atkins, already are known in the community working at other restaurants. Now, they are branching out on their own. They will be opening Sweet Magnolia Diner on July 1 at 102 Commercial St., which formerly was High on the Hog restaurant and before that, Toby’s restaurant.
