In a statement released Wednesday, Stokes County Sheriff Joey Lemons confirmed the identity of Alison Willard whose body was found Tuesday on Friendship Road in King. King woman found dead near road on N. Friendship Road, Stokes County deputies say
Officials are investigating after a woman was found dead in the Triad, according to authorities with the Stokes County Sheriff's Office. On Tuesday, just after 6:30 p.m., Stokes County deputies responded to the 1600 block of N Friendship Road in King, after a report of a dead body. The Surry Arts Council Summer Concert Series will showcase three performances this week at the Blackmon Amphitheatre. On Thursday the Legacy Motown Revue is scheduled to perform in a concert to begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening, Too Much Sylvia will be on the stage for a performance at 7:30. On Saturday the Holiday Band will entertain weekend visitors with a 7:30 p.m. show. Costs for the concerts are $17, or a concert series summer pass. Those attending the shows are encouraged to take a lounge chair or blanket. Coolers and outside drink are not permitted. Concessions will be on sale.
