VFW raises new flag at 1908 Courthouse
INDEPENDENCE — The Grayson VFW Post 7726 donated a new 5-by-8” American flag and conducted a flag-raising ceremony at the 1908 Courthouse in Independence on July 4, prior to the parade. Post Commander Dan Boyer delivered a short speech commemorating the events of July 4, 1776.
Bands bring modern bluegrass to music center
Fireside Collective will perform as part of the “Deep Roots, Many Voices” summer outdoor concert series at 7 p.m. on July 20, in the Blue Ridge Music Center. Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road will open the show at the outdoor amphitheater on the Blue Ridge Parkway, just south of Galax.
Night of Rock n’ Roll in Downtown North Wilkesboro
