Two new programs at WCC announced
Wilkes Community College announced the launch of two new programs, electrical systems and heavy equipment operator. A WCC press release said the electrical systems program teaches how to install and maintain electrical systems for residential, commercial and industrial purposes. “Graduates emerge prepared for diverse roles in the electrical field, from apprenticeships aiding in system layout to full-fledged technicians managing installations and upkeep,” the release stated.

Child abuse charges filed against East Bend man
An East Bend man has been charged following an investigation into reported sexual offenses with a child. The Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the alleged offenses on Thursday, June 18. An investigation was conducted into the matter and evidence was obtained supporting the report, according to the Sheriff's Office. Subsequently, a warrant was issued for Hurley “Duane” Clonch, age 54, for five counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child. Clonch was arrested on July 12 and is being held at the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $125,000 secured bond. His next scheduled court appearance is July 31.

For some reason, I almost skipped Moravian Falls. The book I’m using is great, but it is an older version and I think Moravian Falls was not always accessible. It is currently!
