STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) — A swimmer who was reported missing at a Staten Island beach on the Fourth of July was found at her home, police said Friday.

Authorities said the woman, 49, was believed to be in the water at South Beach near Father Capodanno Boulevard at around 5:40 p.m. Divers and NYPD aviation units searched for the woman but she never went swimming, police said.

The woman had left the beach and was later found at her home, according to the NYPD.
