The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department is asking for feedback on opinions on electric-assisted bikes and other electric micro-mobility devices at state parks. Responses for the online survey will be accepted through Aug. 31.

E-bikes are allowed on bicycle trails 8 feet and wider unless otherwise marked at Oregon State Parks or on beaches where motor vehicles are allowed. OPRD said it is seeing an increase in e-bike use in state parks.

The Oregon Legislature this year adopted a 3-class certification system for e-bikes based on the type of motor, level of electric assistance and speed capabilities. OPRD plans to make changes to its e-bike rules reflecting these changes.

The public can share info about their e-bike use, concerns and opinions through the survey at bit.ly/3Mbr8cM .
