An Estacada pastor riding a motorcycle died Saturday afternoon from injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Oregon Route 224 near Estacada, Oregon State Police said.

A preliminary investigation found a red Ford Focus, operated by a 55-year-old Estacada man was eastbound on the highway and attempted a left turn into a driveway, crashing into a westbound black Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Richard Lee Detherage of Silverton, OSP said.

Troopers responded the crash at 12:38 p.m. and performed lifesaving measure on Detherage, 71, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detherage was senior pastor at Estacada Assembly of God.

The highway was impacted for three hours while officers investigated.
