    As September comes to a close. athletes from Salem- and Keizer-area high schools have delivered another week of standout performances.

    This week's Maps Credit Union High School girls Athlete of the Week nominees are:

    • Nelida Dalgas, North Salem cross-country
    • Talia Jones, South Salem soccer
    • Khloe Livingston, Sprague volleyball
    • Clara Persons, Salem Academy cross-country
    • Kelsey Rodli, Dallas cross-country
    • Braelyn Walter, Silverton soccer

    Vote for the athlete you think is most deserving at statesmanjournal.com/sports. The poll closes at 11 a.m. Thursday.

    Nelida Dalgas, North Salem cross-country

    Dalgas, a junior, finished third at The Mook XC Invite at Alderbook on Sept. 21 with a personal-best mark of 17 minutes, 4 seconds on the 5,000-meter course.

    She now owns the third-fastest time in the state of Oregon and the 13th-fastest time in the U.S. this season.

    Talia Jones, South Salem soccer

    The sophomore forward bagged a hat trick Sept. 24 to lead the Saxons to a 3-1 win over West Albany.

    Khloe Livingston, Sprague volleyball

    The sophomore outside hitter racked up 11 kills on 20 attempts and nine digs Sept. 24 during a 3-0 road win over McNary. During a 3-1 loss to South Salem two days later, she tallied 16 kills on 38 attempts, 17 digs and two aces.

    Clara Persons, Salem Academy cross-country

    The junior ran a personal-best of 19:44.7 to finish 12th at the Northwest Classic 1A/2A/3A/4A race on Sept. 21.

    She now owns the ninth-fastest time in the state this season among small-school runners.

    Kelsey Rodli, Dallas cross-country

    The junior ran a season-best 18:52.5 to win the Mid-Willamette Conference Preview on Sept. 25.

    She now holds the 12th-fastest time in the state among 5A runners.

    Braelyn Walter, Silverton soccer

    The sophomore midfielder scored a clutch equalizer Sept. 24 to force a 1-1 draw between the Foxes and David Douglas. Walter's goal came with just five seconds left in the first half.
