Perryville Man Appointed by Governor Parson
Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - A Perryville man has been appointed by Missouri Governor Mike Parson to one of the various boards and commissions in the state. Jim Martin has been appointed to the Missouri Ethics Commission. Martin is a veteran of the United States Army who currently serves as a member of the Perry County Youth Tax Board. He previously served as a teacher for the Missouri Department of Education’s School for the Severely Disabled in Cape Girardeau and as chaplain of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 4282 in Perryville.

James ‘Jim’ L. Hunter
FARMINGTON – James “Jim” Leon Hunter passed away on July 15, 2024, at Presbyterian Manor at the age of 80. Jim was born on April 17, 1944, in St. Louis to the late Homer Sutton, Jr. and Celestine ( McGuire) Sutton. After graduating from Crystal City High School, Jim went to Southeast Missouri State University. Before finishing college, he enlisted in the US Marines, later finishing his degree at SEMO. He taught school for two years at Cape Central and then devoted the rest of his career to sales. He retired from Mineral Area Monument Company in 2011.
