Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Responds to Restaurant Fire
PAYNESVILLE TOWNSHIP (WJON News) -- Fire at a Paynesville restaurant forced the evacuation of customers Tuesday morning. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office got a call at approximately 9:45 a.m. about a fire at the Hilltop Restaurant at 28518 Highway 55. The fire was reported to have started on the roof.
Delivery truck rolls on its side in central Minnesota
(Elrosa, MN)--The Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a call of a delivery truck that had rolled on its side west of the Elrosa. Stearns County Deputies reportedly responded to the scene and located a Ford Transit van had tipped on the passenger side in the south ditch. The driver of the vehicle, Morgan Kuepers, 28, of Rice, was able to escape injuries.
Teenage boy drowns at Quarry Park and Nature Preserve
WAITE PARK, Minn. — Family and friends are mourning the loss of a teenage boy after a popular summer activity in Stearns County cost him his life. Around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, authorities received a 911 call about a possible drowning at Quarry 11 inside Waite Park’s Quarry Park and Nature Preserve.

On Tuesday afternoon at 4:21 PM, the Stearns County Emergency Communication Center received a 911 call about a possible drowning at Quarry 11 inside Quarry Park and Nature Preserve in Waite Park. When emergency personnel arrived, witnesses said that a 17-year-old male identified as Emmanuel Seward Jr. of Brooklyn Center had jumped off a ten-foot-high cliff, into the water and never resurfaced.
