Minnesota gets brief break for storms on Wednesday
MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota will get a break from the rain on Wednesday, but the quiet weather won't last long.The forecast high in the Twin Cities is 79 degrees. It will be partly cloudy and humid, with a northeast wind blowing around 5-10 mph. Thursday will be even more humid with highs in the lower 80s. There's another chance for storms, which are timed to arrive in the metro by the late afternoon and early evening. There's a marginal risk of severe weather (2 on a scale of 5).We then turn to a beautiful stretch of weather for Labor Day weekend. The sunshine returns in full force and we are sitting pretty. Highs will be in the upper 70s on Friday, lower 80s on Saturday and lower-to-mid 70s on Sunday and Monday.We then may have a four-to-five-day stretch of dry and sunny days.

Kansas artist Stan Herd has put the finishing touches on a larger-than-life ‘earth portrait’ of Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz on a farm in Lawrence. The artist unveiled a portrait of Vice President Kamala Harris, now the Democratic presidential nominee, just days after Joe Biden dropped out of the race last month. The piece, entitled “The Biden Legacy,” left a space blank next to Harris for a portrait of her imminent VP pick.
Traffic Switch Scheduled on S.D. Highway 11 at Brandon
{KXLG – Brandon, SD} On Friday, August 30, 2024, a traffic switch is scheduled on S.D. Highway 11, south of the bridge at Interstate 90 (exit 406) in Brandon. This switch will move traffic from the northbound lane to the southbound lane, allowing construction work to commence south of the bridge.
