Permits and plans for a new restaurant, Falafel and Ambah , were submitted to the Sterling Heights Planning Commission last month. The restaurant has leased an approximately 1,264-square-foot space in Maple Maya Plaza at 3538 Fifteen Mile Road .

Plans submitted by owner Ayman Rabaa show the restaurant will feature a small dining area with ten seats. According to the narrative, the restaurant will have 10 dine-in seats and mainly focuses on carry-out services. Rabaa plans on installing a new ventilation system but will keep most of the exterior facade as is, other than a new signage.

The plans were approved by the Planning Commission on June 12th. Once open, Falafel and Ambah will join other existing businesses in the plaza, including bubble tea drive-through Kuma Boba, Mediterranean restaurant Ishtar, Thai restaurant My Thai Halal Kitchen, Zarzoor restaurant, a Big Moe’s Kitchen location, a baby shop, and a physical therapy clinic.

The restaurant will open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from noon to 11 p.m. on the weekends. The menu features authentic Iraqi sandwiches, bowls, and meal options, such as Iraqi and Syrian style Falafels, Shish )(lamb or mutton kebabs). The restaurant also has a kid’s menu and will not serve any alcoholic beverages.
