TROY (WWJ) — A Sterling Heights man is in trouble with the law after being caught driving drunk in Troy last weekend.

Troy police officers pulled the 27-year-old man over for speeding around 2 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 in the area of Dequindre and Maple Roads.

Officers also saw the driver hit a curb, leading to a flat tire on his 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis.

When officers spoke to the driver, they noticed his eyes were bloodshot and watery and the car smelled of alcohol.

After failing a series of field sobriety tests, the man blew a .108% BAC on a breathalyzer test.

He was arrested and taken to the Troy Police Lock-Up, where subsequent breath tests returned results of .119%, .103%, and .107%.

The driver, whose name has not been released, was given a citation for operating while intoxicated. Troy police officials say that was one of four drunk driving citations handed out in the city last weekend.
