Marco’s Pizza closes location in southern Loudoun
The Marco’s Pizza restaurant in the South Riding/Chantilly area of southern Loudoun has closed its doors for good. The announcement was made today via social media. “It is with a heavy heart I inform you that Marco’s Pizza in South Riding has permanently closed for business as of yesterday,” co-owner Chris Browne wrote. “It has been a pleasure serving the community over the last seven years. Unfortunately, we were just unable to keep up with rising costs and have reached a point where staying in business has become unsustainable.”

Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington announced winners and a range of special distinctions, celebrating excellence in long-standing categories that range from individual professional honors to accolades celebrating culinary concepts and service. The “Hottest Sandwich Shop” award went to Colada Shop, which has locations in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
Change coming to the downtown Leesburg coffee scene
Some big news this morning for denizens of the downtown Leesburg coffeehouse scene. The longtime shop King Street Coffee is moving out and a new coffee shop is on its way in. The owner of King Street Coffee — which opened back around 2010 at 110 South King Street — posted the news on social media.

Dunkin’ Donuts to open in August
Dunkin’ Donuts is expected to open on Columbia Pike in Annandale the first week of August, according to the general contractor working on renovating the building. The shop will offer the same items as any other Dunkin’ Donuts: donuts, coffee, latte, espresso, frozen drinks, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and muffins.
