    Sheriff’s office: Carjacker hit, killed Silver Spring woman with her car in Sterling

    STERLING, Va. ( DC News Now ) — A woman was killed after a carjacker hit her with her own car on Sunday, officials said.

    Deputies with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) responded to the 21000 block of Towncenter Plaza around 11:40 a.m. for a reported carjacking.

    LCSO said that the suspect hit the victim, 54-year-old Melody Waldecker of Silver Spring, Md., with her car as they escaped.

    Waldecker died at the scene.

    Police arrest suspect in connection to fatal Dumfies hit-and-run

    In a release Sunday evening, LCSO said that a suspect was in custody. Deputies were still investigating, and charges were still pending.
