    What we know about the Trump assassination attempt

    Former President Donald Trump had an attempted assassination on July 13 th in Pennsylvania that has shaken the political world.

    Trump said a bullet hit his ear, and one other attendee, as well as the gunman, were killed.

    The incident sparked questions about security protocols and the shooter’s motives, and it took place just days before thousands of people descended on Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention.

    Former President Trump also announced his running mate on Monday, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance.

    Republicans have shown unity at the convention with many of Trump’s formal GOP rivals giving him their full endorsement.

    Other Republican leaders feel Vance is a good pick for Vice President.

    $87.5 Million to Replace Market Street Bridge in Brooke County

    Steubenville and Brooke County officials are reacting to funding that will help replace the Market Street Bridge, which is more than 100 years old.

    West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito announced the $87.5 million for the project last week, which has everyone excited.

    Steubenville Mayor Jerry Barilla says it was like “fireworks on the 4 th of July” when he found out the bridge was being replaced.

    Brooke County Commissioner President, A.J. Thomas says this bridge replacement project is vital for residents on both sides of the river.

    Noxx Yager is a typical 4-year-old in his love of dinosaurs and slides.

    But for most of his life, his playtime came with pain many of his young friends couldn’t understand.

    He had trouble with stumbling and falling, showed weakness in his lower extremities and had difficulty focusing.

    After four surgeries and multiple doctors, Jennifer Diserio, a nurse practitioner at Easterseals, knew something deeper was going on.

    Diserio helped Noxx get a second opinion from WVU Children’s in Morgantown, where it was discovered, he had a tethered cord.

    Noxx’s mom credits Diserio for saving her son’s life.

    Helping Heroes presented with $4,500 check from No One Walks Alone fundraiser walk

    Finally, this week, Ohio Valley residents turned out in droves to help make this year’s No One Walks Alone fundraiser a huge success.

    On Wednesday, several of our representatives here at WTRF were proud to present a check for $4,500 to Helping Heroes.

    The walk, which is part of Nexstar Broadcasting’s annual Founders Day of Caring, helps raise awareness to combat veteran suicide.
