(DENVER, Colo.) Denver Urban Gardens currently has plots available in a handful of community gardens throughout the metro area.

The Denver-based nonprofit has more than 190 community and school-based gardens within the Denver metro. Each plot size in every garden varies.

However, most are around 150 sq. feet, according to the organization's site.

Check the map below for the availability of gardens in the Denver metro and Garden Leader contact information.

The site also notes that most of the gardens also have dedicated spaces for growing extra produce to be distributed to local food banks, community organizations and mutual aid groups.

Pesticides and herbicides are not allowed in the community gardens.
