Denver Weather: Another Red Flag Warning Thursday as cooler temps and stronger winds move in

(DENVER, Colo.) Thursday's weather forecast calls for more sunny, warm and windy conditions in the Mile High City.

The National Weather Service in Boulder predicts sunny skies will cover Denver for most of the day. The high will climb to temperatures near 73.

A red flag warning will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. However, while relative humidity should still be very low, winds will be much stronger than Wednesday, with southern winds at 8 to 13 mph expected to become western at 21 to 26 mph in the morning.

Winds could gust up to 40 mph in Denver.

Thursday evening is shaping up to be cool and breezy, with a low temperature of around 44.

The skies will be mostly clear, with western winds of 13 to 18 mph anticipated to become southern at 7 to 12 mph after midnight. Gusts might reach as high as 30 mph.

Looking Ahead: More sun and winds, temps near 76 Friday

Friday's weather forecast predicts sunny skies, warm temperatures and breezy conditions.

The weather service anticipates the high-temperature Friday to reach near 76. Expect south to southwest winds at 7 to 1 5 mph to become west to northwest in the afternoon.

Gusts could reach as high as 24 mph.

Clouds will partly cover the skies over Denver Friday evening as the low-temperature drops to around 48. Expect west to northwest winds at 6 to 13 mph to become south after midnight.

Winds might gust as high as 21 mph.
