    Denver Weather: Near record temps Friday and Saturday, cooler and wetter conditions Sunday

    (DENVER, Colo.) Friday's weather forecast calls for sunny and near-record temperatures followed by a slight possibility of showers and thunderstorms.

    The National Weather Service in Boulder predicts partly sunny skies Friday, with a high temperature near 89.

    There is a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m.

    Some of the potential storms may produce gusty winds. Expect south winds at 5 to 10 mph to become west in the afternoon. Gusts might reach as high as 16 mph.

    The skies over Denver Friday evening will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature of around 56. Anticipate southwest winds at 5 to 10 mph. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.

    Looking Ahead: Warm and Dry Saturday, wet weather Sunday

    The weather service predicts partly sunny skies Saturday with a high temperature near 89. South to southwest winds at 6 to 14 mph will blow throughout the day. 

    Gusts might reach as high as 22 mph.

    Clouds will cover the skies Saturday evening while the low temperature drops to around 55.

    Expect west to southwest winds at 5 to 14 mph. Winds might gust as high as 22 mph.

    A slight chance of showers will return to Denver Sunday, followed by more possible showers and thunderstorms after noon. The skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 77.

    Anticipate south winds at 6 to 14 mph. Winds might gust as high as 25 mph. There is a 50% chance of precipitation.

    The weather service predicts wet and cool conditions Sunday evening, with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. The skies will mostly cloudy, with a low temperature near 49.
