Aanerud Family recognized as a 2024 ‘U of M Farm Family’
The Aanerud family of Donnelly has been named Stevens County’s “2024 Farm Family of the Year” by the University of Minnesota. The Aanerud farm is a multi-generational agribusiness managed by Andy and supported by his wife, Heather, his parents, Jim and Lorraine, his son Micah, daughter Savannah, one full-time employee, several seasonal machinery operators, and when possible, Andy’s step-family members.
Notice of Public Hearings
The Stevens County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Morris Area High School, 201 S Columbia Ave, Morris, MN 56267 for purposes of receiving comments on a draft Renewable Energy Ordinance. The purpose of the draft ordinance is to replace and modify existing regulations relating to solar energy developments in the County’s current Zoning Ordinance and create new definitions and regulations relating to wind energy and energy storage systems (i.e. “energy battery farms”). The new Renewable Energy Ordinance will be a separate County ordinance from the County’s Zoning Ordinance.
