    Here are the results of contested races in the Stevens Point area in Tuesday's partisan primary election

    Stevens Point area voters went to the polls Tuesday to vote on two state constitutional amendments and for candidates to represent parties in the Nov. 5 general election.

    The offices up for election include U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, Wisconsin State Senate, Wisconsin State Assembly and Portage County elected officials: district attorney, clerk, treasurer and register of deeds.

    Here are the results of the contested races in Tuesday’s partisan primary election.

    U.S. Senate

    Republican Eric Hovde will face incumbent Democrat U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin in the November general election. At press time early Wednesday morning, 97.24% of votes had been reported and The Associated Press had called the race.

    Republican Party

    Eric Hovde: 476,211 (86.3%)

    Charles E. Barman: 40,854 (7.4%)

    Rejani Raveendran: 34,534 (6.3%)

    3rd Congressional District

    Democrat Rebecca Cooke will face incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden in the November general election.

    Democratic Party

    Rebecca Cooke: 42,320 (50.1%)

    Katrina Shankland: 34,763 (41.1%)

    Eric Wilson: 7,411 (8.8%)

    Wisconsin Legislature

    Assembly District 57

    Republican Kevin Peterson will face Democrat Ruth Caves, of Wild Rose, and Independent Dylan Testin, of Waupaca, in the November general election.

    Republican Party

    Kevin Peterson: 6,156 (63.1%)

    Duane Wilson: 3,606 (36.9%)

    Assembly District 86

    Republican John Spiros will face Democrat John H. Small, of Marathon, in the November general election.

    Republican Party

    John Spiros (i): 3,709 (43.3%)

    Donna Rozar: 2,721 (31.7%)

    Trine Spindler: 2,143 (25%)

    Assembly District 87

    Republican Brent Jacobson will face Democrat William Switalla, of Wittenberg, in the November general election. At press time early Wednesday morning, 98.99% of votes had been reported and The Associated Press had called the race.

    Republican Party

    Brent Jacobson: 6,065 (74.2%)

    Cory Sillars: 2,107 (25.8%)

    Constitutional amendments

    At press time early Wednesday morning, 98.78% of votes in the state had been reported for the two constitutional amendments that appeared on Tuesday's ballot and The Associated Press had called the race for both questions.

    Question 1: “Delegation of appropriation power.”

    No: 701,586 (57.4%)

    Yes: 520,349 (42.6%)

    Question 2: “Allocation of federal moneys.”

    No: 703,665 (57.4%)

    Yes: 520,349 (42.6%)
