    Portage County Sheriff's Office looking for inmate Matthew Garsomke after he failed to return to jail

    STEVENS POINT – Officials are looking for a Portage County Jail inmate after he did not return after a three-hour furlough Friday.

    Matthew J. Garsomke was released for a three-hour furlough at 10:30 a.m. Friday. He was due to report back to the jail at about 1:30 p.m. Friday, but Garsomke did not return, according to a news release from the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.

    According to the release, Garsomke was last seen walking away from the jail at about 10:35 a.m. Friday, heading north on Strongs Avenue in Stevens Point. Garsomke has brown hair, hazel eyes, is 6 foot and 1 inch tall and weighs 203 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, white T-shirt, gray shorts and blue shoes, according to the release.

    If anyone has information about Garsomke's location, they should contact the Portage County Sheriff's Office at 715-346-1400.
