STEVENSVILLE — Haven Ministries promises a magical evening of art on the waterfront to benefit the local community with its second annual art auction at the Mark Cascia Vineyards and Winery in Stevensville May 3.
Last year Haven Warehouse, as part of Haven Ministries that sells donated furniture, home decor and wares, received a large number of donated art pieces, according to organizer Lorraine Sincavage.
Noting her experience in charity art auctions, Sincavage thought what better way to benefit the ministry. A win-win to benefit the ministry and raise awareness of local art.
“It raises money to help the community and promote local art,” she said.
Last year’s auction brought forth $4,000 for Haven Ministries to benefit the homeless shelter and community food pantry.
The art auction will feature creations from renowned local artists and will include something for everyone, including oil paintings, jewelry and handmade items.
All art is donated by either the community or local artists and this year’s event will present 30 pieces through the live auction and 20 pieces in the silent auction, Sincavage said.
This year’s event proceeds will continue to benefit the services and resources of Haven Ministries including the emergency winter shelter, food pantries, resource center, and the Homes of Hope and Street Outreach housing crisis support.
Tickets for the art auction are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Tickets include a glass of wine and light refreshments will be served. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the auction begins at 7 p.m.
