Thunderstorms and severe weather covered large swaths of the Midwest under a blanket of heavy rain Tuesday morning, leaving thousands of Hoosiers without electricity. As of 9 a.m., upwards of 5,500 AES customers and roughly 600 Duke Energy customers were without power in the Indianapolis area, concentrated mostly in the northeast side of the city. Meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Central Indiana say more storms are on the way.

State champions fill up the Saint Joseph 10 best athletes of the 21st century list

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Firefighters in South Bend and across Indiana can now apply for the Indiana Firefighter PFAS Biomonitoring Pilot Program. The pilot program analyzes PFAs, also known as 'forever chemical' due to their longevity and toxicity, levels in firefighters' blood. The test results are then used to improve safety procedures and better protect firefighter health.
