Parole denied for one of Skylar Neese’s murderers

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Kanawha County judge has handed down the maximum prison sentence for a former McDonald’s employee who stabbed and robbed a customer last year. Judge Kenneth Ballard sentenced Richard Thornton, 32, on Monday to 100 years in prison on a first-degree robbery charge. The incident happened in the Elkview McDonald’s bathroom in Jan. 2023.
Murder suspect found unresponsive in Western Regional Jail
BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WTAP) - An incarcerated man was discovered unresponsive on July 4. Tony Williamson, 35, who was incarcerated for murder charges out of Lincoln County, was discovered unresponsive on Thursday, July 4, at the Western Regional Jail Correctional Facility, according to authorities with the Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Man sentenced in beating death of woman
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A man who pleaded guilty to the beating death of his girlfriend was sentenced Monday to 19 to 24 and a half years in prison. Lamarie Smith, 24, received the sentence in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court following guilty pleas June 18 to charges of involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault for the Feb. 29 beating death of DeeAnna Summers, 29, of Charleston, W.Va.
