The event runs from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Outreach Center at 515 Denmark Street in Statesboro. "In addition to classroom supplies and decor, this year we will also be giving away brand new household items such as kitchen appliances, bed and bath sets, and lounge furniture after another generous donation from the Walmart Distribution Center," said LaShai Campbell, Co-Founder/Executive Director of Restoring the Breach Inc. "Teachers are hands down our most grateful and appreciative group that we serve. As you know, this is our 5th year hosting this event and there are always multiple teachers who say 'thank you for thinking of us' or 'we had such a great time,'” said Campbell. Former Savannah Fire employee alleges racial discrimination in new civil lawsuit against city
Former Savannah Fire Department (SFD) Battalion Chief Jeffrey Croslen filed a civil lawsuit in federal court against the City of Savannah and SFD Chief Elzie Kitchen that claims he was passed over for an assistant chief position, partially due to racial discrimination.
