Nordic skiing: Stillwater boys place fifth, girls seventh at state
BIWABIK — Showing resolve in a season where snow and training opportunities were limited, the Stillwater boys and girls Nordic skiing teams each placed in the top half of the state meet on Feb. 14-15 at Giants Ridge. Led by all-state performer Carson Peterson, the Stillwater boys placed fifth in the final standings with 316 points. Legendary football coach George Thole was honored by the City of Stillwater during this week’s city council meeting, where Wednesday, February 21, 2024 was proclaimed “George Thole Day” by Vice Mayor Mike Polehna.
