Sports brief: Stillwater Area Baseball holding clothing drive on May 5-7
The Stillwater Area Baseball Association is holding a clothing drive on May 5-7 in partnership with the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota. There will be a truck parked at the corner of Highway 36 and Osgood Ave., just east of Joseph’s Restaurant in the Lakeview EMS parking lot. Clothing (men’s, women’s and children’s), clothing accessories (hats, gloves, scarves and ties), personal accessories (purses, wallets, belts and bags), bed and bath (sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, table cloths and curtains), shoes (all types) and other cloth materials — except water damaged or moldy items — are being accepted. Items can be dropped off on Friday, May 5 from 4-7 p.m., Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, May 7 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Running: Lift Bridge Road Race moving to Stillwater
There is a change to this year’s five-race schedule of events organized by Run Stillwater. The Stillwater City Council recently provided approval for the Lift Bridge Road Race to be held in Stillwater on Saturday, June 24.
