Cambridge-Isanti followed in third place with 61 points. Girls track and field: Quast competes at Hamline Elite Meet
Liberty Quast of the Stillwater girls track and field team competed in two events at the Hamline Elite Meet on Friday, April 26 at Klas Field. The junior placed sixth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.29 in the finals. She qualified for the finals in fifth place after running a 12.25 during prelims. Brynn Bakken of Hills-Beaver Creek won the event with a time of 11.90. Girls basketball: Thompson chosen Most Valuable Athlete for Ponies
One of the most prolific shooters and scorers in the program’s history, Amy Thompson was honored as the Most Valuable Athlete for the Stillwater girls basketball team. The senior was joined in earning All-Suburban East Conference honors by teammates Liana Buckhalton and Annika Peper. Sisters Lucci and Franny deLeon were honorable mention all-conference selections. LAKE CITY — The Stillwater girls golf team finished in a tie for ninth place out of 12 teams in the Jewel Invite on Wednesday, May 1 at The Jewel Golf Club. Led by individual medalist Jordana Windhorst with a 1-under par 70, Lake City prevailed on its home course with a winning total of 311. The Tigers finished comfortably ahead of runner-up Byron (334) and third-place Holy Family (339). The Ponies matched Red Wing in ninth with a score of 376. ...

OAK PARK HEIGHTS — After running its winning streak to six matches in a row, Stillwater was stopped by fourth-ranked Mahtomedi 6-1 in a nonconference boys tennis dual on Wednesday, May 1 at Stillwater Area High School. It was the first loss for the Ponies (4-1 SEC, 7-2) since falling to sixth-ranked Mounds View on April 11.
