One of six returning all-conference performers for the Stillwater girls alpine skiing team, Paige Stabenow has helped pace the Ponies all season.

The freshman finished third in the team’s fifth and final Suburban East Conference meet as the Ponies wrapped up their 13th consecutive conference crown. She was also the top individual finisher in Stillwater’s fourth SEC race, a comfortable victory at Afton Alps on Jan. 25.

The Ponies are scheduled to host the Afton Alps Invitational on Friday, Feb. 2.

Wyatt Fredeen

Boys swimming and diving

One of just four seniors on the roster, Wyatt Fredeen has been a reliable contributor for a Stillwater boys swimming and diving team that has shown steady improvement all season.

Fredeen finished first in the 200 individual medley (2:03.82) and 100 backstroke (56.91) while also contributing to victories in the 200 medley (1:48.28) and 400 freestyle (3:34.95) relays as the Ponies breezed to a 95-83 Suburban East Conference victory over Roseville on Jan. 25.

Stillwater (5-2 SEC, 5-2) was slated to host Park in a conference dual meet on Feb. 1.
