REDWOOD FALLS — Audrey Rogotzke earned her third consecutive trip to state with a first-place finish in her weight class in the Section 2 and 4 individual girls wrestling tournament on Feb. 9-10 at Redwood Valley High School.

The sophomore was the lone state qualifier for Stillwater, which featured entries in seven of 13 weight classes. The top two finishers in each division advance to the third MSHSL girls wrestling individual state tournament on Saturday, March 2 at the Xcel Center in St. Paul.

Rogotzke, an individual state champion in 2022 and a state runner-up a year ago, breezed through the 142-pound weight class in the section tournament — pinning all three of her opponents in less than a minute.

After needing just 44 and 33 seconds to pin her first two opponents, Rogotzke stopped Annabelle Petsinger of New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva in 35 seconds in the finals.

Rogotzke was one of four section placewinners for the Ponies.

Lillian Eggum posted a 4-1 record while placing third in the 106-pound division. The seventh-grader pinned her first two opponents in a combined 45 seconds before dropping a 14-7 decision against Angelica Benitez of Prior Lake in the semifinals. Eggum bounced back with a pin and then a 12-3 major decision over Teva Feit of New Prague in the third-place match, but was denied an opportunity to wrestle for true second when Benitez was stopped by Vivian Diaz of South St. Paul in the title match.

Stillwater also received fifth-place finishes from Maya Jelinek at 118 pounds and Sam Obang at 136 pounds. Also competing for the Ponies were Jaelyn Surgenor (100 pounds), Merci Kent (124) and Aubrey Spates (130). Stillwater did not have entries in the 112-, 148-, 155-, 170-, 190- and 235-pound weight classes.
