Neubauer and Zollar are SAHS Athletes of the Week

It wasn’t the storybook ending she was hoping for, but Maycie Neubauer wrapped up a tremendous alpine skiing career representing Stillwater in the state meet on Feb. 13 at Giants Ridge.

The senior and returning all-state performer came back from a mid-season injury and claimed medalist honors at the Section 4 Meet on Feb. 7. A hiccup on her first run at the state meet took her out of contention this week.

Neubauer is the only senior graduating from a line-up that won the program’s 13th straight SEC title and placed third in the section meet.

Boys basketball

A steady contributor for a team that graduated the bulk of its scoring from a year ago, Henry Zollar has delivered all season for the Stillwater boys basketball team.

The junior, who is averaging 16 points per game, produced a game-high 22 points in Stillwater’s 85-76 Suburban East Conference loss at Roseville on Feb. 13. He also led all scorers with 26 points as the Ponies knocked off Irondale 72-67 in a conference game on Feb. 9.

Stillwater (5-9 SEC, 11-11) hosts East Ridge in a conference game on Friday, Feb. 16.
