Adapted floor hockey: Stillwater/Mahtomedi advance to state

OAK PARK HEIGHTS — Mason Mora-Clark and Gabriel King led the offense and Chase McCann totaled 18 saves to help send the Stillwater/Mahtomedi adapted floor hockey team to the state tournament with a 16-4 victory over St. Michael-Albertville/Buffalo/Monticello in their playoff game on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at Stillwater Area High School.

Mora-Clark delivered six goals and two assists while King notched five goals and an assist for Stillwater/Mahtomedi, which qualified for the state CI Division state tournament on March 8-9 at Coon Rapids High School.

Stillater/Mahtomedi jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first period and cruised from there. STMA/Buffalo/Monticello climbed to within 10-4 in the second, but Stillwater/Mahtomedi answered with six unanswered goals to close out the game.

Mubarak Adem and Westley Hoveland added two goals each for Stillwater/Mahtomedi, which also received a goal each from Benjamin Stoffer and Noah Kent.

Owen Donar, Stoffer also supplied two assists while Adem, Maddie Erickson and Anabelle Zawislak each chipped in with an assist.
