Peper and Kogler are SAHS Athletes of the Week

Girls basketball

A steady contributor on both ends of the floor all season for the Stillwater girls basketball team, Annika Peper provided 16 points as the Ponies were stopped by second-seeded East Ridge 79-57 in the semifinals of the Section 4AAAA tournament on March 2.

The junior guard averaged 11.4 points per game while shooting a team-best 41.9 percent from three-point range. Peper also scored 13 points in Stillwater’s section victory over Tartan.

The Ponies finished the season with a 20-8 record, including 13-5 to place third in the SEC.

Jackson Kogler

Boys swimming and diving

It was a record-setting season that ended with Jackson Kogler representing the Stillwater boys swimming and diving team on the state medal stand.

The junior broke his own school records while placing second at state in the 100 backstroke (49.45) and fourth in the 200 individual medley (1:49.91). Kogler also contributed to 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams that also qualified for the state meet at the University of Minnesota on Feb. 29-March 2.

Stillwater finished the season with an 8-2 record, including 7-2 to place third in the SEC.
