    Softball: Stillwater blanks Knights

    NEW BRIGHTON — Cece Lamey threw a complete game shutout as Stillwater upended Irondale 9-0 in a Suburban East Conference softball game on Monday, April 15 at Irondale High School.

    The freshman limited the Knights (0-6 SEC, 0-7) to two hits and five walks while striking out nine.

    Stillwater (4-3 SEC, 5-3), which pulled away with four runs in the seventh, received two hits apiece from Maya Schroeder, Lilly Grundner and Sarah Dollerschell. Schroeder also scored four runs.

    • The Ponies also defeated Park 17-9 in a conference road game on Wednesday, April 17, but additional details were not available at presstime.

    Forest Lake 6, Stillwater 3

    At Oak Park Heights, a four-run first inning helped pave the way to Forest Lake’s 6-3 conference victory over the Ponies on Friday, April 12 at Stillwater Area High School.

    Just three of the runs charged to Ponies starter Anna Corbid were earned. She allowed eight hits and one walk with five strikeouts in seven inning. Sarah Dollerschell singled and doubled and Addison Coffey added two hits for Stillwater, which climbed within 5-3 after scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth.

    Hannah Tong threw a complete game for the Rangers (5-1 SEC, 5-1), who trail Cretin-Derham Hall (6-0, 6-0) by one game in the SEC standings.
