OAK PARK HEIGHTS — After scoring just six runs combined in its previous four games, Stillwater broke out in a big way while cruising to a 10-0 Suburban East Conference baseball victory over Park on Wednesday, April 24 at Stillwater Area High School.

The offense came alive, but the strong pitching that has been there all season also starred in the victory as Alex Oehlke and Emmett Campbell combined on a five-inning no-hitter.

Oehlke, a junior, started and threw three innings for the second-ranked Ponies (5-2 SEC, 6-2), allowing just one walk and hitting another batter while finishing with six strikeouts. Campbell finished off the no-hitter with two perfect innings. The senior totaled three strikeouts.

Stillwater did not commit an error and the two pitchers faced just two batters over the minimum. Nine of the 15 outs recorded Oehlke and Campbell were strikeouts.

The Ponies jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and tacked on five more runs in the second.

Blake Vanek drove in four runs while joining AJ Levy and Alex Boston with two hits apiece. Nine different players collected at least one hit for the Ponies, who averaged more than nine runs in their first three games this season, but then totaled just six combined in the four games before putting up 10 against Park (0-7, 1-7).

Woodbury (6-1, 6-2), Mounds View (5-1, 6-1) and Cretin-Derham Hall (4-1, 4-1) each have just one loss in the SEC, with the Ponies, East Ridge (4-3, 5-3) and White Bear Lake (4-3, 5-3) not far behind.
