The Stillwater Area High School girls and boys swimming and diving teams were represented at the Minnesota Swimming and Diving High School All-State Banquet on Friday, April 26 at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest in Brooklyn Park.

The event honors competitors who earned all-state honors during the past season and recognizes individuals, teams and coaches for their academic and athletic achievements. Stacy Busak of Fergus Falls and the University of Minnesota, and Tom Cannon of Monticello were this year’s inductees into the Minnesota Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame.

Stillwater athletes who were honored as all-state recipients include Margaret Reed, Jayla Petersen, Lucy Paczosa, Maddie Reed, Norah Naatjes and Jackson Kogler.

    • Earlier this spring, the Stillwater girls and boys teams were notified that seven athletes earned Academic All-American honors from the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America, including Maddie Reed, Leah Cody, Paige Schmit, Annie Gritters, Wyatt Fredeen, Tate Sorensen and Cameron Winters.

In addition to contributions in the pool, recipients must be seniors and carry a minimum grade point average of 3.750 or higher.
