Richert and Rowan are SAHS Athletes of the Week

Girls lacrosse

The Stillwater girls lacrosse team taken over the top spot in the Suburban East Conference standings and attacker Mady Richert has helped lead the way.

The junior supplied three goals and two assists as the Ponies upended defensive-minded Park 11-5 in a conference game on May 1. She also notched a goal in Stillwater’s 10-7 conference victory over Cretin-Derham Hall and leads the Ponies with 18 goals and six assists for 24 points in six games this season.

Stillwater (5-0 SEC, 5-1) travels to White Bear Lake for a conference game on May 3.

Charley Rowan

Baseball

Stillwater has won baseball games in a variety of ways this season and Charley Rowan has been doing his part at the plate for the third-ranked Ponies.

The senior third baseman launched home runs in Stillwater’s recent victories over Mounds View and Irondale and he also finished with three hits in the team’s 3-2 win over Cretin-Derham Hall on April 26. Against the Raiders, Rowan drove in the winning run to cap a three-run, seventh-inning rally.

The Ponies (8-2 SEC, 9-2) travel to East Ridge for a key conference game on May 3.
