Synchronized swimming

The Stillwater synchronized swimming team wrapped the latest in a long string of East Conference championships and Paige Schmit has been a key contributor all season.

The senior joined sister Hailey Schmit to win the duet and combined with isana Downing and Annie Gritters to win the trio to help send the three-time reigning state champion Ponies to a 33-14 routines meet victory over rival Forest Lake in their regular season finale on May 7.

Stillwater (6-0 EMC, 6-0) is set to compete at the East Section Meet on May 17-18.

Boys track and field

The Stillwater boys track and field team is no stranger to the True Team state, but the Ponies also don’t take it for granted and they delivered an impressive performance to win the Section 2AAA title at Eagan on May 7.

Ethan Foote helped lead the charge, leading a 1-2-3 finish for the Ponies in the 800 meters with a winning time of 1:58.42. The senior also prevailed by a narrow margin to win a thrilling 1,600-meter race in a time of 4:22.75.

Stillwater is slated to host the True Team state meet on Friday, May 17.
