ROSEVILLE — Senior Vyan Abdullah continued her steady play at the top of the lineup as the Stillwater girls golf team placed seventh in a Suburban East Conference meet on Monday, May 13 at Midland Hills Country Club.
Abdullah shot a 48 to lead the Ponies, who posted a score of 208 to place behind East Ridge (168), Mounds View (175), White Bear Lake (181), Cretin-Derham Hall (183), Forest Lake (184) and Woodbury (189).
Since placing third in a conference meet at North Oaks on April 29, the Ponies have finished seventh in each of their last three SEC events.
Addison Schinka followed with a 50 for Stillwater at Midland Hills while Jenna Voight and Sam Schinka each signed for a 55 to complete the scoring. Nora Roberts and Kylie Voight each finished at 59.
Lily Vincelli of Cretin-Derham Hall was the individual medalist with a 37.
After competing in the Tri-State Preview at Bunker Hills on May 17-18, the Ponies will host a conference event at Stillwater Country Club on May 20, followed by another on May 22 at Tanners Brook in Forest Lake before gearing up for the SEC Tournament on May 23 at Oak Glen in Stillwater.

Ponies 2nd in triangular
At Maplewood, the Ponies turned in their second-best nine-hole total of the season while placing second in a triangular meet on Friday, May 10 at Goodrich Golf Course.
Mahtomedi edged Stillwater 175-179 for the top spot while Cretin-Derham Hall followed in third with a score of 188.
Along with White Bear Lake, these teams are expected to be among the leading contenders in the Section 4AAA tournament, which will also be held at Goodrich.
Lily Vincelli of Cretin-Derham Hall and Lexi McGrane of Mahtomedi each shot 40 to share medalist honors.
Vyan Abdullah led the way for the Ponies with a 42 while Nora Roberts (44), Sam Schinka (46) and Addison Schinka (47) also provided solid scores to complete the scoring. Jenna Voight and Lauren Roberts shot 51 and 52.
