Oklahoma State’s Ollie Gordon II named No. 2 running back prospect in 2025 NFL Draft

Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II accomplished almost everything a college running back could as a sophomore in 2023. He won the Doak Walker Award. He was Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He was named unanimous All-American.

Even with all of that, there are still goals to reach. Like making the new, 12-team College Football Playoff, winning a Big 12 title, and, ultimately, the NFL.

Headed into 2024, The Athletic has Gordon as the No. 2 running back prospect in the NFL draft behind just Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty.

From The Athletic: “A taller back with long, springy legs, Gordon has outstanding cut-and-accelerate skills to string together moves and confound pursuit angles. Most taller backs find it tough to navigate short areas and prefer space where they can stretch out their longer legs — but not Gordon. Along with his breakaway speed in the open field, he also has unique stride control with burst in his steps to pick his way through each level of the defense.”

Oklahoma State opens the season on Aug. 31 at home against two-time defending FCS national champion South Dakota State.
