WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Sean Snyder, the son of legendary Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder, is heading to Oklahoma State, the school announced Wednesday.

Snyder left KU in January to start a private kicking business, Snyder Kicking. At Oklahoma State, he will be the punting and kicking coach for Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy.

Last season, Snyder served as the special assistant to Jayhawks head coach Lance Leipold and assisted the special teams unit.

“Sean brings years of experience with kickers and punters and special teams concepts,” Gundy said in a news release. “We’re really excited about what he brings to our coaching staff.”

Snyder punted for his father at Kansas State from 1990 to 1992 and later served on the coaching staff in several roles for nearly 25 years from 1994 to 2019.

He left in 2020 to become the special teams coordinator at USC and then went to Illinois for the same role before going to Lawrence.
