Grace United Methodist Church held its annual Kicks 4 Kids shoe giveaway Saturday, bringing much-needed footwear and other essential services to local children. "About seven years ago, a youth group of junior high and high school students recognized a need in their schools," said organizer Russ Conrade. "Some kids couldn't participate in gym or PE because they didn't have the proper shoes, or any decent shoes at all. It started as a way to help them and has just grown from there. Wichita State men's basketball will spend Thanksgiving participating in the 2024 ESPN Events Invitational at the Walt Disney World Resort, Nov. 28-29. The four-team field features Florida (SEC), Minnesota (Big Ten) and Wake Forest (ACC) and the Shockers out of the American Athletic Conference. The Shockers are making their third appearance in the ESPN Events Invitational and first since 2015.
Hutchinson Regional Medical Foundation launches housing program
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Regional Medical Foundation (HRMF) announces its launch of a housing program that encourages providers to live in the community they serve. At the end of HRMF’s fiscal year, a budget of $750,000 was solidified to support this new program and initiative, which focuses on a three-year commitment from the provider in exchange for a housing incentive to purchase a home in Reno County.
