LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Law enforcement held a training at the Stockbridge High School Friday morning. Officers with the Stockbridge Police Department and deputies of the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department joined forces with the district to improve their ability to respond to situations of active violence.

The training started at 9 a.m. Friday.

Law enforcement, fire personnel, dispatch, and even employees of the school participated in a scenario designed to prepare them for potential incidents in the future, considering the prevalence of such violence in the United States.

“The Stockbridge Police Department’s top priority is the safety of our students,” said Stockbridge Police Chief Matthew Bartus. “We are grateful to be able to collaborate with the Stockbridge Community Schools and Ingham County Sheriff’s Office to create this exemplary school safety training.”
