Free Ice Cream and Great Music in Dexter
The Dexter Lions Club and Dexter Creamery have been teaming up this summer to bring free ice cream to the Music in the Park events. Over the past couple of months, the Dexter Lions has served free ice cream from the Creamery on Friday nights during the Summer Concert Series. They will be doing it one more time on Aug. 30. Music in the Park is presented by the Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce.

$5.6M grant will help expand early-childhood programs in Washtenaw County schools
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI - A federal grant will help expand education programs for the youngest learners in several Washtenaw County schools. The Office of Head Start, part of the federal Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families, has awarded a $5.6-million grant to the Washtenaw Intermediate School District to continue providing Head Start programs, officials said.

On September 13, 2024, from 8am to 1pm, the Washtenaw County Conservation District (WCCD) will host a field day that will be focused on reducing nutrient loss from field tiles and the use of cover crops to improve soil health, suppress weeds, and assist with nutrient cycling, and will also feature a drone demonstration. The field day will be at H & H Harvest in Bridgewater Township (9880 Austin Rd, Saline), which is operated by Brandon Henes.
