Rice Lake’s 12U youth baseball team is competing at the Wisconsin Little League State Tournament in Kenosha. As the District 3 selection, Rice Lake is one of six teams in the tournament. Through three games the Warriors are 1-2. Two Men Arrested And Charged After Traffic Stop Reveals Improvised Explosive Device, Meth
POLK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - The Polk County Sheriff’s Office retrieved an Improvised Explosive Device during a routine traffic stop which also resulted in the seizure of Methamphetamine. The Marathon County Bomb Squad assisted with the removal of the explosive device. Two were arrested and charged, Nicholas Carlson, age 43, of Menomonie, WI; and Cory Stanhope, age 30, of Chetek, WI.
Higher than normal volume of ‘Pets in car” cases in Eau Claire
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Eau Claire Police say they are seeing higher than normal cases of animals being left in hot cars. This can be bad for pets due to suffering from heat exhaustion and discomfort as cars can heat up quickly. The police department says they will contact pet owners after responding to a call, but if no progress has been made they will break the car window.

(KNSI) — The St. Cloud Police Department says a Level Three Predatory Offender has moved into the city. James Stamps Junior told authorities he arrived in town on July 22nd and listed his address as homeless, but said he is working on securing more permanent housing soon. Goodhue County Board backs sharply increased rates for policing contracts
A torn Goodhue County Board of Commissioners has approved a dramatic increase in policing rates for 2025, setting the stage for smaller towns like Wanamingo, which rely on policing contracts with the Sheriff’s Office, to potentially pay much more.
