MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - As the start of school draws near, one organization wanted to help make sure students are ready to head back to class. Around 1,500 backpacks were given away Thursday by the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers Trooper Motorcycle Club. The giveaway was held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Mardi Gras Park in downtown Mobile. There was also food and inflatables for the kids.
