Buffalo Soldiers Trooper Motorcycle Club holds backpack giveaway in Mobile for area students
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - As the start of school draws near, one organization wanted to help make sure students are ready to head back to class. Around 1,500 backpacks were given away Thursday by the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers Trooper Motorcycle Club. Cozumel Mexican Grill Opens Fairhope Location
Cozumel Mexican Grill of Fairhope has opened at 18177 Wright Boulevard. This is the third location for Kate Hurtado, who says the restaurant is a “family owned Mexican restaurant with deep roots into Mexican cuisine.” It is focused on providing a good atmosphere and meals with the “traditional essence of Mexican culture.” The restaurant’s other locations are in Foley and Loxley.
Bevill State, Jasper Love’s receives grant funding for EV charging initiative
Bevill State Community College (BSCC) has been awarded a $2.4 million grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) to assist in the Alabama Energy Infrastructure Training Center expansion of the current HVAC Training Center in Jasper. This expansion will now include workforce training resulting in certification for the installation, testing, operation and maintenance of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
Multi-Agency Drug Task Force Search Warrant Leads to Two Arrests
On July 18th, 2024, members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Special Response Team, executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence on Starmount Drive in Crestview. During the execution of the search warrant, investigators located a firearm, cocaine packaged for distribution, and additional evidence of narcotics distribution.
